Tutoring Services

Welcome! I'm a dedicated and passionate educator with a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Level Education - English from Slippery Rock University (SRU), where I proudly made the Dean’s List every semester. My background includes a range of valuable classroom experiences that have shaped my approach to individualized, student-centered learning.

I completed my student teaching at Mars Area Middle School, working with both 6th and 8th grade English classes, where I developed engaging lessons tailored to diverse learning styles. I also had the opportunity to teach 9th grade English at Ambridge High School, further deepening my experience in supporting students as they transition into high school-level expectations. Additionally, I’ve worked as a substitute teacher at Ryan Gloyer Middle School (RGMS), where I adapted quickly to different classrooms and connected with students across various grade levels and subjects.

These experiences, combined with my academic success and commitment to ongoing professional growth, have equipped me with the tools to support students both academically and personally. I believe in creating a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and building confidence in their abilities.

Whether it's through one-on-one support in English, math, reading, or science, I’m here to help students grow, succeed, and develop a genuine love for learning.

Please be sure to check out my Teaching Philosophy—it’s the foundation of everything I do and is deeply integrated into every lesson I create and every student I support.

  • English

    English Tutoring (Grades 1–10)

I offer comprehensive English tutoring for students in grades 1 through 10, focusing on reading, writing, grammar, and critical thinking. With a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Level Education - English from Slippery Rock University, I bring both academic expertise and a deep passion for the subject into every session.

English has always been my favorite subject, and I strive to make it just as exciting and meaningful for my students. I believe that when students connect what they’re learning to their own interests, hobbies, and real-world experiences, they become more engaged, motivated, and confident. That’s why I tailor each lesson to the individual—whether they love sports, video games, art, music, or storytelling.

    Areas of focus include:

    Reading comprehension and literary analysis

    Essay writing and paragraph structure

    Grammar, punctuation, and sentence fluency

    Creative writing and expression

    Vocabulary development

Study skills and test preparation (including standardized tests and writing prompts)

I use a variety of tools and strategies, including multimedia resources, discussion-based learning, and interactive activities to help students truly enjoy English—not just do well in it. Whether your child needs help catching up, staying on track, or wants to take their skills to the next level, I’m here to guide them every step of the way.

My goal is to nurture confident, thoughtful readers and writers who can express themselves clearly and think critically about the world around them.

  • Science

    Science Tutoring (Grades 1–7)

I provide engaging and supportive science tutoring for students in grades 1 through 7, helping them explore the world around them with curiosity and confidence. My strength lies in making science both understandable and fun by connecting lessons to real-life examples and hands-on learning experiences.

My strongest areas are world science and biology, where I help students grasp key concepts like ecosystems, the human body, animals, plants, weather, space, and Earth sciences. I guide students through scientific thinking, helping them ask questions, make observations, and understand how the natural world works.

    Topics I cover include:

Life science (plants, animals, human body systems)

Earth and space science (weather, planets, landforms, natural resources)

Physical science basics (motion, energy, simple machines)

    Scientific method and inquiry skills

    Reading and interpreting science texts

    Homework help and project support

While I am well-equipped to assist in most general science areas, I do not offer tutoring in chemistry. However, I am always happy to support students in understanding related topics at an age-appropriate level.

My goal is to inspire students to enjoy science—not just memorize facts, but truly understand how and why things happen. I create a learning environment that encourages curiosity, builds foundational knowledge, and supports every student’s unique way of learning.
